Day what?!

Believe it or not, every single one of these is an actual holiday:

  • National Open an Umbrella Indoors Day
  • National Toothache Day
  • Hoodie Hoo Day
  • National Paper Bag Day
  • National Step in the Puddle and Splash Your Friends Day
  • National Lumpy Rug Day

And one of them actually takes place on International Slingshot Day - February 20th. "Invented" by Thomas Roy in the late 80s, Hoodie Hoo Day says that you should go outside at noon on February 20th, raise your hands over your head, and holler "Hoodie Hoo."

Something about overcoming winter-time blues.

According to holidayscalendar.com:

Since that time, Thomas Roy has created and copyrighted 80 different holidays. These holidays include Wonderful Weirdos Day on September 9th, Haunted Refrigerator Night on October 30th and Panic Day on March 9th. Hoodie Hoo Day is preceded by Who Shall I Be Day? on February 17th and followed by For the Love of Mike Day on February 22nd.

So if we can have a Bathtub Party Day and Answer your Cat's Questions Day, we sure can have a Slingshot Day, right?

We thought so, too.

So why celebrate International Slingshot Day on February 20th?

Because SimpleShot founder (Nathan Masters) honored his mentor Blue Skeen on the first International Slingshot day in 2022 and that's Blue's birthday.

So the question is: who will you honor?

This is your chance to pay tribute to your slingshot friend or mentor.

Post your tribute publicly for your friends to see. Honor the person or people you choose on whatever platform you like, then hit the button below to show us what you posted.

February 20th, we will take all the tributes we receive and post them for everyone to see.

If you don't want to post it somewhere, you can send us your tribute in the submission.
